EKWENSU

Alias: Donnell Dewey. A budding superstar hip hop producer and label owner. While touring with a couple of artists on his label in Algiers he heard of a secret chamber that inspires the most beautiful sound. As he investigated he learned that the myth is only a few have ever discovered the chamber and even fewer develop music there. It said that the chamber was visited by John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson, Prince and only a couple of others. Somehow, if you’re lucky enough to reach the chamber, you must pass some sort of test to enter. If you fail you receive the “fury of the Gods”.

After months of exhaustive research, Donnell deduced the location of the Chamber. But he FAILED the test. As a result, Donny is “cursed” with the affliction of Dominion. During times of extreme joy and happiness, Donny is infused with the power of Ekwensu. The mythological African trickster God of War. Donny is trying to develop the ability to stay on an absolute even keel so as not to lose control to Ekwensu at the wrong time. Ekwensu has been benevolent and kind at times. But as a trickster he can be somewhat cruel. Donny’s 3 children have notice the slight change in their father and his two daughters have decided to work together and “keep an eye” on him but his son…well that’s another story.
